Freemansburg Borough owns a variety of beautiful parks and recreational areas within the Borough that offer both residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy nature and engage in a wide range of outdoor activities.
Gerald C. Yob Community Park
This approximate 9-acre parcel at the intersection of Freemansburg Avenue and Cambria Street offers walking trails, a pavilion, playground equipment, seating areas and parking.
The park is currently undergoing a revitalization. With over $1.5 in grant funding secured to date and the Borough seeking more grant funding as it becomes available, the park will soon see the addition of an outdoor amphitheater and community center.
Heritage Park
This .25 acre parcel is situated on Main Street across from Market Street and offers walking paths, a gazebo and other seating areas, which provide a peaceful ambiance to anyone seeking a rejuvenating outdoor experience.
Delaware & Lehigh ("D&L") Trail
The Freemansburg section of the D&L Trail offers a scenic and historically rich experience for outdoor enthusiasts. This part of the trail follows the Lehigh Canal towpath, providing a peaceful route for walking, cycling, and wildlife observation.
The trail passes by Lock 44 and the Lock House, which both are remnants of the days the canal was operational.
Freemansburg has three (3) access point for the D&L Trail.
