Sewer
The Finance Department bills property owners for their Sewer Usage in the Borough annually, with invoices typically sent to customers the first week of February for the current billing year.
Once an invoice is received, customers have the option to pay the invoice in full or, make payments on their balance throughout the billing cycle.
The sewer billing cycle ends on the second Monday in September of each calendar year. Any outstanding Sewer account balance for the applicable calendar year must be paid by the due date listed on the invoice.
- Payments received after the due date listed on the invoice will incur a late payment penalty fee in the amount of 10% of the outstanding balance.
- The Finance Department will not accept any late payments for the applicable calendar year after December 31; any payment received after December 31 will be returned to sender.
- Accounts with an outstanding balance after December 31 will be sent to Portnoff Law Associates Ltd., who is the authorized debt collector for the Borough, and incur additional penalties and fees. After December 31, payments for outstanding balances on delinquent accounts must be made directly to Portnoff Law Associates Ltd.
Current Sewer Usage Rates
Residential
$375.00 per dwelling unit per year.
Billing is based off of an average consumption of a residential dwelling.
Non-Residential
Certain non-residential or commercial/industrial properties are billed for their sewer usage based off of their water usage, which is calculated by the City of Bethlehem Water & Sewer Resources Department’s water meter reports.
