The Freemansburg Police Department provides 24/7, year-round law enforcement coverage for the Borough of Freemansburg and also provides assistance to neighboring communities when requested.

The Department is dedicated to community policing, traffic enforcement, and crime prevention, all with the goal of maintaining a safe and high quality environment for residents.

Community policing is at the heart of the Department’s mission. By fostering strong partnerships between officers and residents, the Department works proactively to identify and address safety concerns, build trust, reduce crime, and enhance the overall well-being of the borough.

A profound chapter in the Department’s history was the tragic loss of Officer Robert Lasso, who was fatally shot on August 11, 2011, while responding to a disturbance call. His passing was a deeply felt loss for both the Department and the entire Freemansburg community. In the wake of this tragedy, the incident brought increased awareness and support for law enforcement officers throughout the region.
